Our Farm
Grand View Farm is independently owned and operated by Dan and Michelle Kary. This historic farm in Greene, Maine has been cultivated since the 1780s and grows produce exclusively for Vignola Cinque Terre. In season, the farm’s three acres of cultivated gardens and orchards supply over a quarter of fresh fruits, herbs, and vegetables used by Chef Skawinski and his staff at Vignola Cinque Terre. The farm does not serve only as the restaurant’s food source, but it also teaches the kitchen and front of the house staff where the foods come from and what it takes to grow them.
The Karys are passionate about growing their own food for the restaurant. They believe that the freshness and variety of the farm’s produce make all the difference. The farm also hosts its annual Harvest Dinner in the fall. The farm offers a genuinely unique dining experience in a beautiful and intimate farm setting. "Our traditional Harvest Dinner exhibits our commitment to Maine’s increasingly influential Farm-to-Table movement," noted Dan Kary.
Grand View Farm is still growing with new additions each year. Last year we welcomed the bees in our farm that allowed us to produce our own honey. And this year, we have completed the greenhouse, which allows us to supply fresh produce to the restaurant year round.
